Work Testing

Patients that suffer from work-related injuries may meet the treatment goals of physical therapy but cannot return to work due to deconditioning (being out of shape).

Work conditioning programs, which often simulate the demands of a given job description, are designed to help patients with the following:

  • Recover their strength
  • Improve endurance
  • Increase flexibility & mobility
  • Improve cardiorespiratory fitnes
  • Personalized interventions are also provided to decrease the odds of re-injury upon return work

Typically, these programs consist of personalized, full-body, intensive training with a focus on the activities that are similar to the physical demands required by a particular category of employment.

Our physical therapy clinic offers comprehensive *Employment Prior to Hire Testing* and *Return to Work Testing* to help employers ensure their workforce is physically capable of performing essential job duties safely and efficiently.

*Employment Prior to Hire **(Pre-employment) **Testing* is designed to assess a candidate’s physical abilities before they begin employment. We perform thorough evaluations to determine if an individual is physically fit for the demands of the position, minimizing the risk of workplace injuries and enhancing overall job performance. This testing typically includes strength, flexibility, range of motion, and functional capacity assessments tailored to the specific requirements of the job.

*Return to Work (Fit for Duty) Testing* is offered to employees recovering from injury or illness. These assessments evaluate an employee’s readiness to safely resume their job responsibilities, ensuring they meet the physical demands of their role without compromising their health or recovery. By collaborating with both employers and employees, our clinic helps create a safe and sustainable work environment.

Both services help employers reduce the risk of workplace injuries, improve productivity, and maintain compliance with workplace health regulations. Our team of licensed physical therapists provides expert evaluation and guidance tailored to your unique workplace needs.
